The following cruise is one of the best and most recommended private cruises you will find here in Budapest. If you are looking for a private cruise that will be only for you or for your friends and guests, this is without a doubt a cruise you should check out.
We took this cruise during springtime at sunset, and it was a wonderful experience. There really is a difference when the whole boat is at your disposal. We personally were just a couple, but the boat can hold up to 20 people, so if you are coming with a large family or a group of friends, you can book it exclusively for yourselves and enjoy a cruise that is all yours without queues, without crowds, and at the exact time that suits you.
This cruise is operated by Portum Lines, which is one of the leading cruise companies here in Budapest, on a small and charming boat that is also lit with ambient lights after dark. The boat passes right by the Parliament Building, which glows beautifully at night, and by all the other well-known sights in Budapest such as Buda Castle, Fisherman’s Bastion, the Chain Bridge, Várkert Bazaar, Vigadó Concert Hall, and more.
During the cruise you can listen to pleasant music and also purchase drinks and snacks from the mini bar on board. Since this is a relatively small boat, the cruise is slow and not fast, and we really loved the calm and tranquility it created.
The cruise lasts only one hour in total, which is perfectly fine for a private cruise. It departs from Dock 42, which is located in a relatively northern area on the Danube in Budapest (across from Margaret Island). If that is inconvenient for you, the company offers the option of departure points from other locations for an additional fee.
The price of the cruise is €225. The price refers to the cruise itself and not per person, so if you come for example as a group of 10 people and split the cost, the price will be about €22 per person. You can book it from here.
Although it is more expensive than the regular boat tours in the city, if you don’t have a budget problem or if you are looking for a once-in-a-lifetime experience, it is definitely worth it. Moreover, since the boat can hold up to 20 people, if you come as a larger group and split the payment, the per-person price will end up being quite similar to that of a regular cruise but in exchange for a private cruise that is entirely yours.
€225 per cruise (flat rate, not per person).
