About This Cruise

Daytime City Cruise on the Danube in Budapest by Legenda

This daytime cruise by Legenda Cruises is without a doubt one of the best boat tours you will find in Budapest. It is considered very popular and among the most frequently booked by travelers from all over the world, especially because it offers an audio guide in no fewer than 30 languages.

The cruise lasts about 70 minutes on a comfortable and modern boat operated by Legenda, one of the city’s most established cruise companies. When we took this tour, we sat on the open-air deck, although there is also an indoor area if you prefer. This is a medium-sized boat that can accommodate up to 80 people, so we did not feel any overcrowding and were able to sit or stand comfortably.

One thing we really liked about this cruise is that it also includes two drinks in the ticket price. One welcome drink (wine, beer, sparkling wine, soft drink, or mineral water) and one glass of Duna Bella lemonade or tea (seasonal). As mentioned, it also comes with an audio guide available in 30 different languages (Spanish, Dutch, English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Russian, Slovak, Slovenian, Croatian, Danish, Estonian, Finnish, Greek, Hebrew, Hungarian, Arabic, Latvian, Lithuanian, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Thai, Chinese, Czech, Korean, Romanian, Turkish, and Swedish).

The cruise departs from Dock 7, about a 10-minute walk from Elizabeth Bridge and the Ferenciek tere metro station. It follows a circular route passing by Budapest’s most important landmarks such as Chain Bridge, Elizabeth Bridge, the Hungarian Parliament Building, Buda Castle and Castle Hill, Margaret Island, and the Danube Promenade. In the summer, the company also offers the option of stopping at Margaret Island, allowing you to return later on the same boat at no extra cost, but you should confirm this with them before the cruise.

Legenda operates this tour many times throughout the day, with departures every 45 minutes from 10:15 am until 5:00 pm. The ticket price is only €17 per person, which we believe is excellent value considering the drinks are included. This cruise is very popular and also one of the most frequently booked on GetYourGuide, where it has received thousands of excellent reviews and an impressive rating of 4.6 out of 5 based on around 5,000 verified guest reviews.
