If you are looking for a classic cruise that almost every tourist in Budapest chooses, this is probably the one. It is a popular sightseeing cruise by Silverline Cruises that we have already tried several times ourselves, and we highly recommend it.
This is a classic sightseeing boat tour of about one hour that operates both in the evening and at night. The boat has an upper deck where you can enjoy ideal views of all the famous sights of Budapest as you pass them along the way.
The tour also includes an audio guide in several different languages (Hungarian, English, Italian, Spanish, German, French, Samoan) but please note that the guide works via the company’s mobile app, which you need to download to your phone, and you must bring your own headphones.
The staff on board are very friendly and provide personal assistance whenever needed. You can also order food and drinks on board, but these are not included in the ticket price and must be paid for separately. We arrived early to secure a good spot on the upper deck, and we definitely recommend you do the same.
The cruise departs from the company’s dock near Elizabeth Bridge and passes by many of Budapest’s most famous landmarks such as Gellért Hill, Chain Bridge, Buda Castle, the Hungarian Parliament Building, and the National Theater.
This sightseeing cruise runs both during the daytime and in the evening. If you choose a daytime cruise, departures are available between 4:00 pm and 6:30 pm. If you prefer a night cruise, departures run frequently between 7:15 pm and 10:15 pm. The times may vary.
As for ticket prices, there is a small difference between the daytime cruise at around €12 per person and the evening cruise at around €14 per person. You can book it through this page.
