About This Cruise

Danube River Dinner Cruise in Budapest with Folk Dance Show

If you are looking for a great dinner cruise recommendation in Budapest that also introduces you to traditional Hungarian music, cuisine, and folk dancing, we highly recommend this cruise operated by Hungaria Koncert. In our opinion, it is one of the best dinner cruises you can find, and it is also one of the most popular and best selling among tourists in the city, with excellent online ratings (4.2 out of about 2000 reviews on GetYourGuide).

This is a unique dinner cruise that lasts about an hour and a half and departs every evening at 19:00 from a convenient and central location very close to the famous Chain Bridge (The exact address is here). The cruise includes a full buffet style dinner based entirely on traditional Hungarian dishes, with options such as goulash with dumplings, beef stew, stuffed cabbage, Hungarian strudel, Somlói galuska, and more.

We must say that the food was very diverse and much tastier than expected, we were pleasantly surprised. Everything was served hot, fresh, and in generous portions, so we left completely full. The service was also polite and friendly. The meal included a selection of salads and one drink (you can choose between an alcoholic beverage or a soft drink).

However, the highlight of this cruise is without a doubt the traditional Hungarian folk dance performance, presented by a group of talented musicians and dancers dressed in colorful traditional Hungarian costumes. They perform with authentic folk instruments, creating a charming and immersive atmosphere. During the cruise, the performers also move between the tables and even take song or dance requests from guests.

The boat itself was clean and well organized, with large panoramic windows offering fantastic nighttime views of Budapest’s illuminated landmarks along the Danube, especially the Hungarian Parliament Building and Buda Castle. The boat also has an open air upper deck, where we went after dinner with our drinks to enjoy the view in the fresh air.

The price for this entire experience is quite reasonable, around €80 per person, and in our opinion it is worth every cent. This is definitely one of the best value dinner cruises you will find in Budapest. You can book it here.
