The cruise is operated by Duna-Weser, lasts about 2.5 hours, departs at 18:30 in the evening, and leaves from the northern section of the Danube piers in Budapest at Dock Akadémia 3 (not far from the Chain Bridge and the Shoes on the Danube memorial). It offers one of the best routes on the Danube, passing by the Hungarian Parliament, Buda Castle, Gellért Hill with the Statue of Liberty and the Citadella, the city’s bridges (Chain, Liberty, and Elizabeth), Margaret Island, the Palace of Arts (MÜPA), the National Theatre, and the Vigadó Concert Hall.
We really enjoyed this cruise and had a tasty, satisfying, and very generous dinner. The food quality was excellent, definitely not at the level of a typical tourist restaurant but rather fine dining quality. The boat itself is very large, carefully designed in a modern and elegant style. The dining area is surrounded by panoramic windows for perfect views, combined with excellent ambient lighting.
As soon as we boarded, the crew welcomed us with a glass of prosecco and guided us to our table. Dinner is served buffet-style with a very wide variety - there is no chance you won’t find something you love. Drinks are unlimited on this cruise, and the staff constantly made sure our glasses were refilled. In the background, pleasant saxophone music accompanied the evening.
After dinner, we also went up to the open upper deck with a cup of coffee to enjoy the views in the fresh air. We definitely recommend you do the same.
