This boat tour by the well-known cruise company Silverline is one of the most popular and sought-after cruises in Budapest, attracting travelers from all over the world. What makes this cruise stand out from other standard daytime cruises in Budapest is the welcome drink included in the ticket price (you can choose between an alcoholic drink or a soft drink).
The cruise is operated on a modern two-level boat - the lower deck is fully covered and air-conditioned, while the upper deck is partly open for better views. The boat is also equipped with tables so you don’t have to hold your drink the entire time. We have taken this cruise twice, and in both cases, the boat was clean and well-maintained, and the crew was excellent and attentive. We did feel that a little background music would have added to the atmosphere, but it didn’t stop us from enjoying the experience.
The departure point is on the Pest side (the eastern side of the Danube) from Dock 11, located right next to the famous Elizabeth Bridge, which is very easy to reach by metro. From there, the cruise follows a circular one-hour route passing landmarks such as Buda Castle, the Hungarian Parliament Building, the Chain Bridge, and Gellért Hill. The cruise operates in the afternoon from 16:00 until 21:00.
The ticket price is €19 per person, which is higher than standard sightseeing cruises in Budapest, but that is because it includes the welcome drink. The ticket price is the same for all ages, with no reduced rate for children. Tickets can be purchased here.
